Following recent rumours online that Queensland Police Weapons Licensing Branch were removing the “RE1” Licence Code which enabled shooting club members to shoot recreationally on rural land, Shooters Union attended a meeting with WLB to straighten out the matter.
WLB have confirmed there are currently no changes to the licence system or codes, and that membership of a shooting club such as Shooters Union will continue to provide licensees with both the SC1 (Shooting Club use) and RE1 (Recreational shooting on rural property with landowner permission) codes for their licences.
