Shooters Union WA was pleased to be one of the few shooting organisations invited to give evidence at West Australian Parliament Standing Committee On Legislation hearings into
the Firearms Act 2024.
Our WA state advocate, Steve Harrison, spoke at the hearings on September alongside representatives from the Sporting Shooters Association of Australia WA, and the WA Shooting Association, with everyone agreeing WA’s legislation was fundamentally flawed, poorly implemented, and out of step with the National Firearms Agreement; and calling for it to be completely re-written with proper and genuine input from licensed shooters and the
shooting community.

The Committee is expected to deliver its full report on October 16.
