We have been advised via the WA Farmers Federation that the Labor Government in Western Australia proposes to implement a limit of five (5) guns for recreational shooters (hunters) and ten (10) for competition target shooters as part of their firearm laws overhaul.

We understand that primary producer licences, corporate licences and collector licences will be exempt from these limits in some form or another.

Given WA’s track record of ignoring input from the shooting community, it is safe to assume if these limits are under active consideration then they will be implemented.

Our representatives have been meeting with members of the shooting community and industry both in WA and elsewhere, to help formulate a plan of action – we will keep you updated as more information becomes available.

This is also a cautionary tale for shooters in the Eastern States too – Don’t for a moment think the anti-gun politicians and bureaucrats on this side of the country aren’t drafting up something similar too.
