Shooters Union is one of the organisers of the WA Gun Rally, taking place at the Supreme Court Gardens in Perth on February 8, 2025 from 10.30am
The rally is part of our opposition to the draconian firearms laws in Western Australia, and will involve speakers from firearms groups including Shooters Union, as well as politicians including Liberal Party MP Dr Steven Thomas, and Independent MP Louise Kingston.
Formal invitations have gone out to several other shooting groups (including SSAA, the Western Australian Firearms Community Alliance, and the Western Australian Shooting Association) as well as other politicians.
If you are in the Perth region, we strongly encourage you (and any other licensed shooter friends you have) to attend – not only to help send a message that shooters are members of the public too, but as a chance to network and communicate with shooters from across the state.
We need to stress: It is absolutely vital that attendees are on their best behaviour – that means please dress neatly, leave the inflammatory posters at home, and think carefully about what you say online or to anyone who might be reporting on the rally.
The focus of the rally is entirely on WA’s firearms laws and how they have been rammed through in a dictatorial fashion with no consultation or genuine engagement.
It is NOT about other issues such as broader civil liberties concerns, the COVID-19 pandemic response, or other fringe issues.
