Shooters Union Western Australia helped organise and run the very successful WA Gun Rally earlier this month.

A large crowd of people attended the event held in the Supreme Court Gardens in Perth on Saturday, February 8th, to hear about the threats facing responsible firearms users in the state and how WA firearms users can fight back against the laws and continuing political attacks on them.

The speakers were:

  • Mr Steve Harrison (SU WA State Advocate)
  • The Hon Louise Kingston MLC (Member for South West Region)
  • Mr Ryan Thomas (Libertarians Candidate for WA)
  • Dr Augusto Zimmermann (Law Professor and former WA Law Reform Commissioner)
  • Mr David Brown (SU WA Director)

Reception to the event and its speakers has been almost universally positive – congratulations to SU WA and the organising team for putting such a successful event together!

A special thank you as well to the SU WA members who volunteered their time on the day as Event Marshals, helping attendees locate the event and answering questions from visitors.

The SU WA team have made a lot of connections as a result of the Rally and have already been in talks with politicians, political candidates, and individual shooting community members about ways to work together for the betterment of all responsible firearms users in Western Australia.

There’s a long road ahead for shooters in Western Australia, and SU WA needs all the support it can get – if you are able to help, please e-mail [email protected]
