We’ve repeatedly shared our concerns over the Queensland Community Safety Bill 2024, which is being pushed by the ALP Government and will have serious repercussions for law-abiding firearms users if it passes in its current form.

We’ve had it confirmed that under the proposed Bill, a person who is disqualified from having a firearms licence will NOT be allowed to work or even LIVE at a rural property which has firearms registered to the address.

The implications for this are obvious, and it will affect a lot of people – everyone from family members (with nowhere else to live), contract musterers, Jackaroos/Jillaroos, shearers, fencing crews, mechanics – the list goes on.

The Queensland Community Safety Bill MUST be subjected to proper, genuine, and prolonged public engagement, and it MUST NOT be allowed to pass as it currently is.
