NSW Shooters: DO NOT apply for DVA or Pension Concessions when applying for a Firearms Licence

We have confirmed reports of Veterans in NSW who apply for a firearms licence fee concession using their DVA pension card being sent official requests to explain why they are still suitable to hold a firearms licence.

Naturally we are appalled by this and have contacted a Veteran’s advocacy group to get help raising the issue with FAR, but in the meantime our official advice is DO NOT APPLY FOR A CONCESSION OF ANY KIND ON YOUR FIREARMS LICENCE FEES. The few dollars you will save are not remotely worth the headaches that will inevitably follow.
