A petition to the Western Australian Parliament calling for (among other things) a full public inquiry into the Firearms Bill 2024 has become the most signed e-petition in the State’s history.

The petition received 31,162 signatures, overtaking the previous record holder which was a petition calling for changes to the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act 2021 (an Act that was subsequently repealed not long after the petition was tabled), which received 29,714 signatures.

We, and every other shooting organisation in the country, will be very interested to see how the ALP Government in WA responds to the petition, given their intense dislike of law-abiding firearms users and the enormous number of signatures.
