The Queensland State Election is set for Saturday, October 26th. It is vitally important you ensure your electoral roll details are up to date – you can check them here

Every election we’re asked, how should I vote “pro-gun”?  Our voting advice to members is: Vote for a pro-gun party (such as KAP) or independent candidate (in whatever order you like), and put the ALP/LNP/Greens/Animal Justice Party AT THE BOTTOM of your ballot.

Even if you are a Major Party voter, or in a seat where it is obvious the Major Party candidate will be elected, we encourage you to give your “1” vote to a pro-gun party or independent, then allocate your second preference to your preferred party.

This will provide the pro-gun candidate with vitally needed electoral funding (as well as denying it to the Major Party) while still allowing you to ensure the vote for your preferred party is still counted as well – and also sends a message the shooters are an important part of the electorate which cannot be ignored.

You can find official details on all the candidates in your electorate at the Electoral Commission of Queensland website here.

PLEASE CONSIDER VOLUNTEERING TO HELP CANDIDATES IN YOUR ELECTORATE

If you would like to volunteer to help a candidate (or sitting member) in your area please reach out to their electoral or campaign office directly – their contact details are on the ECQ website linked above.

Volunteering not only helps pro-firearms candidates get elected, it is extremely helpful for protecting firearm owners, as it shows candidates that shooters are a productive part of their community to be aware of and hopefully support.

As a bonus: If you ever have an issue with licencing or PTAs etc the local member is more likely to be able to assist you if they know you or are aware you directly helped them get voted in!

Ask yourself: Are you really too busy to help your local pro-firearms candidate this election?

Your vote matters, and your political engagement matters – as the saying goes, you might not be interested in politics, but politics is definitely interested in you.

Yours in shooting,
