One of the benefits of Shooters Union membership is access to basic legal support and referrals onto specialist solicitors.
Since January 1, 2024 our legal triage team (who are the first point of contact for members requesting assistance on firearm-related legal matters) have:
- Made 31 recommendations to our firearms solicitors (QLD, NSW, Victoria)
- Answered 732 non-legal advice bureaucratic enquiries (Such as how to get a firearms licence, safe storage, applying for interstate licences, delays in PTAs/License applications etc)
- Given non-legal advice to 32 members regarding letters received from police regarding changing safe storage addresses etc
