The nationwide shortage of primers and handgun reloading powders is likely to continue for some time, with industry sources confirming there are more than 30 million small pistol primers from various brands on back order and only 3 million on the way with a delivery date in the foreseeable future.

It is not much better on the pistol powder front either, with no shipments of Alliant powder expected for the remainder of this year at least and ADI have said they will not be producing pistol/shotgun powders “for the foreseeable future.”

Most ADI rifle powders are still available, with the exception of Trail Boss (not being produced at all this year, according to ADI) and AR 2205, which apparently remains effectively unavailable.
