Shooters Union Australia representatives, including vice-president David Brown, flew to Townsville recently to attend the official launch of the Katter’s Australian Party (KAP) 2024 campaign.

As well as kicking off the campaign, the event also introduced four new KAP candidates for North Queensland seats – Reuben Richardson for the seat of Thuringowa, Michael Pugh for Mundingburra, Margie Ryder for Townsville, and Duane Amos for Cook.

As Hinchinbrook MP and party deputy leader Nick Dametto said at the launch: “We are a party unashamedly built in North Queensland, for North Queenslanders.”

The event at The Spirited Goat on The Strand was very well attended and Shooters Union Australia vice president David Brown said it had been a pleasure to make the trip to North Queensland for the launch.

“They’re the leading firearm-friendly political party in Australia. We’re proud to support them,” he said.

“There was a great turn-out at the launch and we loved being able to catch up with the KAP team in person and meet the new candidates.”

As part of Shooters Union’s close relationship with KAP, we are also delighted to confirm that Shooters Union members from anywhere in Australia can now join KAP for $20, instead of the usual $33.

Even if there aren’t KAP candidates in your area, every membership to them and donation helps – they are the only openly pro-gun political party with elected MPs in Queensland, and the more MPs they can get in parliament (regardless of which electorate they represent), the better it is for shooters.
